About Us

Hey!

We’re Matt and Sophie, the couple behind Chief Studio.

Sophie spent over a decade working in marketing, across both B2C and B2B, and at companies of all shapes and sizes. She’s led global marketing teams, worked in fast-growing startups and big Microsoft partner firms, and knows what it’s like to be the one hiring an agency. Starting her own agency was always the goal, and after years as a marketing director, she finally made that happen with Chief.

Matt started in photography and writing, working as the content editor for the World Photography Organisation in London. His background in the arts brings a different creative perspective to our work, particularly regarding branding, language, tone, and overall feel.

We manage every aspect of Chief ourselves, from strategy and copy to delivery and ongoing support. When clients work with us, they are working directly with the founders.

Originally founded in Edinburgh, we are now based in sunny Lanzarote, Spain, where we live the digital nomad life with our 5-year-old son.

Why we’re big on SaaS

We love working with software businesses. The founders are eager to build, the opportunities are fresh and exciting, and we can quickly make a big impact as marketing partners.

When founders start working with us, they often feel a bit lost and too close to the code to see the value in the product. But they leave feeling confident and clear on their positioning, messaging and how to promote their product.

the Chief difference

A Fair Price

We offer fair pricing for early-stage and start-up B2B SaaS businesses that are ready to take their marketing seriously. We’re not the cheapest, but we’re also not out of reach.

B2B Tech Focused

We specialize in working with B2B technology solutions and services. Whether your approach is product-led, sales-led, or a mix of both, we can wrap our marketing strategy around this.

Collaborative

We really make an effort to get to know your product and audience, because without context, great messaging and positioning are hard to achieve.
